With almost 18 million passengers per year, the airport is a natural hub for infrastructure development in North Stockholm. Air transport, highways, parking lots as well as long distance and direct trains make it easy to get to and from the Arlanda area. Arlanda Express rail service, for example, gets the traveler from central Stockholm to Arlanda in just 20 minutes.

Even from a wider perspective, Arlandastad stands out as a central point. Thanks to the new highway from Gävle and the continuous improvements of the roads leading to the west, travelling times have been significantly reduced. There are also plans to expand the rail service with a seperate station on the eastern side of Arlandastad. Bus services will increase, and already today only environmentally friendly buses run to and from the airport. If we look to the sky, we can see an increase in the number of flights and the number of direct destinations, as well as the number of passengers. Every day, around 50,000 passengers pass through Stockholm Arlanda Airpor t. Fur thermore, the cargo traffic at the airpor t is estimated to quadruple within the next 5 years.
